Global Event 2021 on Tackling the Digital Divide

Every year, DRC sets out to explore problems and their solutions around a pressing topic of transnational dimensions, which affects displaced populations, and which challenges the humanitarian sector. As we strongly believe in the value of collaborative action and knowledge, DRC seeks to enable an event brimming with actors that we do not normally engage with. Actors who will make us smarter, more responsive and accountable towards displacement affected people.

Join us on our Global Event 2021 journey. This year we're Tackling the Digital Divide, to support people affected by displacement.

After a successful launch of our DRC Global Event series last year, where we focused on the nexus between Climate Change, Environmental Degradation and Displacement, we are delighted to invite you to join us on a journey Tackling the Digital Divide, to support people affected by displacement.

Digitalization is a global megatrend that is transforming societies, organizations, economies and governments. It has the potential to facilitate real, positive change, but may also lead to increased repression, instability and (digital) divides that leave marginalized groups lagging behind. Therefore, it is time to ask: How do we tap these opportunities? And how do we do it tackle the risks?

We would love for you to embark on this journey with us and explore topics such as digital rights, digital financial inclusion, digital employment, digital access and digital accountability.
