What is a residence permit due to special circumstances?

<p><span class="NormalTextRun SCXW186194079 BCX0">A residence permit pursuant to<span> </span>Article<span> </span>9C<span> of the </span>Danish<span> </span>Aliens Act can be granted if there are special<span> </span>circumstances<span> </span>indicating<span> a necessity. Such </span>circumstances<span> </span>might involve a consideration<span> </span>of<span> maintaining the family unit </span>or, where the applicant is under 18 years of age, a consideration of the best interests of the child. </span> </p>

Applications for a residence permit pursuant to the Danish Aliens Act, Article 9C, section 1, are processed by the Danish Immigration Service. 

The residence permit is temporary, and very few people in fact receive a residence permit due to special circumstances in Denmark.
