Which rules apply in relation to legal representation and assistance?

An unaccompanied minor asylum seeker will have a guardian appointed to look after their best interests and provide support during the processing of the asylum application, for example through  being present at all meetings with the Danish authorities.

If the Danish Immigration Service decides that the asylum case must be processed under the manifestly unfounded procedure, the unaccompanied minor will automatically be granted free legal representation.

If the Danish Immigration Service decides that the child is not sufficiently mature to go through the asylum procedure, in certain situations the child can still be granted a residence permit without having the application for asylum processed.
