Communication and Conflict management

In this workshop, participants will be introduced to skills of communication and conflict management. In the first part, the workshop will focus on the essentials of communication: What is needed for successful communication, what are the characteristics of a good communicator, and how can we overcome barriers to communication?  In the second part, the participants will learn about how to resolve a conflict in a positive manner, about listening and other communication tactics for dealing with conflicts.

Needs Assessment

A needs assessment is the best way to answer the question: ‘What assistance do communities need?’ In this workshop you will learn various methods to collect and analyze information. These enable the organization to make good decisions about how to allocate resources and gather more resources to meet the needs of the disaster-affected community. We will also look at how you might go about choosing criteria for deciding which issues are most important to address and for deciding on the best strategies for addressing them.

How will you measure your project’s success? This workshop will help you answer this question by introducing the basics of monitoring and evaluation (M&E). Monitoring demonstrates results and informs decision making while evaluation assesses what results have been achieved and how they have been achieved.

In this workshop, you will learn about data collection, management, analysis, and use. This workshop introduces results and results based frameworks, and looks into outputs and objectives. You will learn how to report progress results through output monitoring tools.

The next opportunity to apply for funding will be towards the end of 2021, under the proposal guidelines for the new DiPS. More information about the restructuring of DiPS will follow and we look forward to discussing the changes with you. In this workshop there will be a Questions and Answers session about the New DiPS.

What is the difference between reporting an activity and reporting a result? This workshop will not only help you write better reports, but also help you communicate better to your members and broader audience on social media. This workshop will give you tips on how to write a progress report, complete with templates and checklists.
